Copying text and pictures

HyperCard knows what you want to cut or copy by what you have selected when you choose Cut or Copy from the Edit menu.

If text is selected, you copy and subsequently paste text; if a picture is selected, you copy and paste a picture; and if a button or field is selected, then that's what is subsequently copied and pasted.

Whenever you want to copy something, first select it using the appropriate tool.
